Who I am

Merak Lee Design is a one-person Shopify and Klaviyo studio run by Merak Lee in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In this policy, "I", "me" and "my" mean Merak Lee Design. This policy covers meraklee.com.

What I collect, and why

When you send a message

The contact form asks for your name, your email address, your store's web address (optional) and your message. I also note which page of the site you sent it from. I use this to reply to you and to understand what you need. A copy of each message is stored securely so it isn't lost if an email fails to arrive.

When you book a call

Calls are booked through Calendly. When you book, Calendly collects the details you enter, such as your name, email address and any answers you give, and shares them with me so I can prepare for the call. Calendly's own privacy notice explains how it handles your information.

When you email or call me

If you contact me directly, I keep the details you share, like your email address, phone number and the content of our conversation, so I can reply and keep track of our work together.

When you're a client

Some clients use private tools on this site, such as content calendars and email reports, which need a sign-in. These store the information you or I add to them, such as calendar entries and uploaded images. The email report tool uses the Klaviyo key you enter only to create the report you ask for. It isn't saved or recorded.

Technical information

Like any website, the servers that run this site briefly receive your device's IP address and basic browser information when you visit. I use this only to keep the site running and secure, for example to stop the contact form being flooded with spam. I don't use it to identify you or to build a profile of you.

Cookies

This site doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookie it sets is a sign-in cookie for clients who log in to the private tools. It's needed for signing in to work and isn't used for anything else.

Calendly, which runs the booking pop-up, may set its own cookies when you open it. Those are covered by Calendly's privacy notice.

Who else handles your information

I use a few trusted services to run this site. They only process your information to provide their service to me:

• Railway hosts the website and the database where contact form messages are stored.
• Resend delivers contact form messages to my inbox.
• Calendly handles call bookings.
• Google Fonts provides the fonts on this site, so your browser connects to Google to load them.
• Hostinger provides my email.

I never sell, rent or trade your personal information, and I don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Where your information is stored

Some of these services store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, your information may be subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it under those laws.

How long I keep it

I keep your information only for as long as I need it to reply to you, to work with you, or to meet legal and tax requirements. When it's no longer needed, I delete it. You can ask me to delete your information sooner, unless I'm required by law to keep it.

How I protect it

The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Stored information is kept on secured, access-controlled services, and only I can access it.

Your choices and rights

Under Canadian privacy law, you can:

• ask what personal information I have about you, and get a copy
• ask me to correct anything that's wrong
• withdraw your consent and ask me to delete your information

To do any of these, email merak@merakleedesign.ca. I'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with how I've handled your request, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This site is for businesses. It isn't meant for children, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I handle personal information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
